This is my webiste about hunters that is giving you all the information I found about hunters while doing my ethography.
These are just some fun facts about hunters:
Hunters and anglers support more jobs nationwide than the number of people employed by Wal-Mart.
More Americans hunt and shoot than play golf.
Firearms are involved in less than 1% of all accidental fatalities. More Americans are killed in accidents involving vending machines than guns.
Top selling sporting goods: 1.) exercise equipment, 2.) golf gear, 3.) hunting gear.
Americans annually buy 1.1 billion shotshells.
Proposal:
My Ethnography Group
Group
For my ethnography group, I chose the focal point on hunters. I know some hunters and am hoping to interview these people about hunting. My family likes to hunt so I will definitely ask them their opinion about hunting.
Purpose/Goal
The purpose or goal of my project is to learn more about hunters because I really don’t know a lot about them. I want to know why they like hunting; is there a thrill for it, or do they find it more of a competition? I want to know a lot more about why people hunt.
Assumptions
Some assumptions I have about hunters is they don’t really like animals because they like killing them. I fell like hunters find pleasure in killing animals and I just would like to know why that is. Some other assumptions I had about hunters were they enjoy shooting guns, they like the outdoors, they are early risers, they aren’t vegetarians. They don’t like store bought meat, they like camouflage, they are bulky, they are quiet, and most of them seem to be guys.
Research Questions
Research questions I have about hunters are mostly about my assumptions. Do hunters enjoy shooting guns? Do they like the outdoors and waking up early, etc..? Some other questions I have are why do hunters hunt? For meat? Or maybe for the horns on their killing? What do they hunt? What is their favorite thing to hunt? And what don’t they like about hunting?
Obstacles
When I go hunting with my family, I’m hope they kill something. But this is an obstacle because there is definitely a possibility they won’t kill something, and I won’t be able to see their reaction after it. I want to see their reaction because I want to know if they are really happy after it, or maybe they might show some signs of sympathy for the animal. But only if they were to catch something would I be able to see this.
